The MQ7 sensor is commonly used in carbon monoxide detectors to monitor air quality and provide safety alerts in both residential and industrial environments.

How It Works:
- The MQ7 sensor operates based on a metal oxide semiconductor that reacts with gases like CO when they come into contact with the sensor’s surface.
- The sensor has a heating element that needs to reach a certain temperature for accurate functioning. When carbon monoxide interacts with the heated sensor, it causes a change in the electrical resistance of the sensor.
- The sensor’s resistance changes in response to the concentration of CO, and this change is converted into an output voltage that is sent to a microcontroller, such as an Arduino or Raspberry Pi.
- The analog output provides a continuous voltage that corresponds to the concentration of CO, while the digital output can be used to trigger a predefined alarm threshold.
